From Low Par to European Champions!!!!!!

Sevilla and West Ham have had one of the best turnarounds this season, finishing outside of the top 10 in their league to winning major European championships respectively.

It's been an odd season for the two clubs, who started the season on the wrong foot.

Being one of the best clubs in Europe, Sevilla didn't have a season to remember, finishing in 12th place with 49 points.

Before that, Sevilla lost 10 of their first 20 games in all competitions, with most of it coming from La Liga, losses which put them in relegation.
It was hard to believe: a club that dominates the Spanish league alongside the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona and is always putting effort to finish in the top 4 was now having a relegation battle.

After successive managerial changes, the club hired the services of Jose Luis Mendilibar to help them out of the bottom but that was the beginning of the rejuvenation.
With them still in the Europa League, after being knocked out of the UCL via finishing 3rd place, Sevilla went on to defy all odds and won the Europa League for the 7th time, the most by any team in the competition, beating the likes of Manchester United, Juventus, and Roma on their road to success.

Over in England, West Ham wasn't one of the "Big Six" or whatever, but we knew what the club was capable of.
They finished 6th in the premier league in 2021 and reached the Semi-Finals of the Europa League in 2022, so their bad start finish to the season was likewise surprising.

Despite finishing in the 14th position with 40 points, just 6 points above 18th-placed Leicester City, the Hammers were still in the Europa Conference League.
With no hope for European football next season, they put all their efforts into the competition, and for the first time in 43 years, West Ham lifted a major trophy after they beat Fiorentina 2-1 in Prague, edging their name in history as the second club to ever win the trophy and the first EVER English club to do it.

A late Jarod Bowen goal sealed the tie for the team to not just give them their first title in a long time but also gave them an automatic ticket to play in the Europa League next season.

For the record, West Ham also helped former Chelsea Left Back Emerson to become the first player in history to win all 3 European Trophies and made David Moyes the first Scottish manager since Sir Alex Ferguson to win a European trophy.

These two sides showed us that it doesn't matter how you start, but how you finish.
Nobody saw this coming, and that is what makes football special.

Congratulations to the Clubs!!
