FA CUP| Manchester United beat Everton to advance to 4th Round

Manchester United progressed to the 4th round of the FA Cup after a hard fought 3-1 victory over Everton.

Antony gave United the lead in the 4th minute, sliding his shot into an unguarded goal after been set up by Marcus Rashford.

Demirai Gray thought he had equalised for the Toffees minutes later but his shot cannoned off the post and a touch from De Gea sent it to the corner stand.

The Spaniard however was at fault for the equaliser, failing to catch Maupay's delivery properly with his legs, allowing it to roll to Conor Coady to tuck home from close range.

In the 31st minute, Rashford had his long effort saved by Pickford, before Christian Eriksen curling shot sailed past the goalpost in the closing stages.

After the break, Coady went from hero to zero in the 52nd minute, failing to clear Rashford's delivery into the box, instead steered it into his own goal, restoring United's lead.

Everton upped the pressure in the half, breaking United down on the counter but couldn't find the finishing touch.

Substitute Dominic Calvert-Lewin made it 2-2 in the 74th minute but had his goal ruled out due to the provider, Gray being in an offside position.

In the 5th minute of added time, Ben Godfrey tripped Alejandro Garnacho in the box, giving United a penalty and a chance to finish off the game and a chance they took well as Rashford stepped up to convert the spot kick, sealing their road to the next round.
