Premier League| Some of the Biggest Stats of the League


The Premier League is known as one of the, if not, the best football league in the world.

Some regard the English side to be better than their Spanish rivals La Liga, which is closely compared based on their history in the game, but the former always finds a way to edge their prestiguos rivals.

Since its establishment in the late 80s, it has grown to be the birth place to some of the greatest clubs like Liverpool and Chelsea, and players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Thiery Henry, Eric Cantona, Frank Lampard, who have gone on to represent them in big tournaments like the Champions League and the Europa League.
Though they might come up short to their Spanish rivals and other country sides like Italy's Serie A, France's Ligue 1 and German side Bundesliga, they always go tend to leave a close mark in the competition.
Blessed with history, it could take a day, possibly more to list out its biggest and craziest achievements, so I'm just going to bring it down to the ones I could get my hands on.

Without Further Ado, Here are some of the big stats in the Premier League:


* Only 4 teams have won the premier league 3 times in a row and one of the 4 did it twice.
Arsenal in 1933, 1934 and 1935, Surprise Huddersfield Town in 1924, 1925 and 1926, Liverpool in 1982, 1983 and 1984 and finally, Manchester United in 1999, 2000 and 2001, who repeated the feat again in 2007, 2008 and 2009.

* Preston north end won the first premier league title in 1889 and won it the following year.

* After his recent match against Manchester City, Marcus Rashford became the first Manchester United to score a goal in his last 9 home games, surpassing Wayne Rooney, who only scored in successive 7 home games.

* Erling Braut Haaland is currently the league's top scorer with 21 goals in just 17 matches, two goals away from matching the 2019/2020, 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 top scorers, who won the golden boot with the same goal tally (23).
The last player to win the golden boot with more than 23 goals was Mohamed Salah back in 2018, where the Egyptian king registered 32 goals in 36 matches for Liverpool in his debut season.

* Since scoring just 3 goals in his second senior season for Tottenham Hotspurs in the 2013/2014, Harry Kane has made it his duty to register 15+ goals in each season after that.
In the 2014/2015 campaign, the Englishman grabbed 21 goals in 34 matches, 25 goals in 38 matches the season after that and 29 in 30 matches in the 2016/2017, where he was awarded his first Golden Boot.
2017/2018 - 30 goals
2018/2019 - 17 goals
2019/2020 - 18 goals
2020/2021 - 23 goals (His Second Golden Boot)
2021/2022 - 17 goals

He currently has 15 goals in just 18 matches in the league, 6 goals behind Erling Haaland, who tops the table with 21.

* The Premier League has been held by 24 different clubs, with 13 of them being in the current first tier division while the rest are below.

 
* Despite their status as the big "6"in the league, which comprises of Tottenham Hotspurs, Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal, they have all been relegated at least once since their establishment.

* Manchester United has won the highest number of league titles (20), closely followed by Liverpool (19) and Arsenal (13).
