Strikers in great form since the World Cup

2022/2023 saw the return of club action after a very entertaining World Cup in Qatar.

With the conclusion of the biggest football event in the world, players have returned to their respective teams in order to pick up where they left off in the first half of the season while those that didn't feature also made their return to their club.
There has been a lot of improvements from several players but there has also been those players who have failed to hit the same height and count more figures as the previous half.
Some of these has either helped solidify their team as main event material or haven't added anything more or less.

Here, we will looking at 8 in form forwards since the return of the game.

N/B: I think we know who is going to be the number 1 at the best ranking but I will leave you to your imagination.
And this list comprises of Europe based forms, so one of the G.O.A.T.S won't be here (tear drop!)

8. Bukayo Saka
The 21 year old has fully established himself as one of top dogs in the premier league as he remains as one of the driving force in Arsenal's quest for the PL trophy.

The winger shows great promise anytime he steps foot into the field, dazzling the crowd with his runs and skills, capping everything off with neat finishes, and the best part is that he keeps improving day by day.
So far, he has scored 6 goals and provided 3 assists since his return to league action but keeps showing that he can add more to that tally.

7. Karim Benzema
Though he hasn't hit the same heights as he did last year, Karim still shows that he is still the top level striker that everyone has come to know.

The 2022 Balon D'or winner has stepped up in many occasions and delivered when needed, scoring and delivering awesome performances that get the crowd invested.
The 33 year old has found the back of the net 12 times, including a brace against Liverpool in the CL R16 and a goal against Al Hilal in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup.

6. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
Ah! Kvara. The only one on this list with the most complicated, long but cool name.
The young Georgian burst into the scenes after he was signed by Napoli in the summer and he has gone on to edge his name in the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
Brought in to replace Lorenzo Insigne, the 22 year old always excites the fans with his dribbling, passing and finishing techniques.
Though he didn't feature in the World Cup for various reasons we all know, it didn't stop him from trippling his previous form, also going on to form a strong partnership with Victor Osimhen.

5. Erling Braut Haaland
Another player who couldn't feature in the World Cup, the Norwegian had to wait for the break to be over in order to continue causing havoc in the Premier League.

He hasn't really hit the same height as he did in the first half of the season, but he still remains a threat in front of goal.
So far, he has scored 10 goals and provided 2 assists in all competitions, and remains the highest goalscorer in europe.
He would hope his goals would help Manchester City win something before the end of the season.

 4. Lionel Messi
6 goals and 2 assists wouldn't be the best stats to mention, especially for the World Cup winner but it is his all round play that puts him in the list.

The 35 year old has been in fine form since his return from the World cup final, saving PSG in dire moments, one of them being a 90+5 free kick goal against Lille to complete a sensational 4-3 comeback.
His champions league ambitions might have ended once again after being knocked out by Bayern Munich in the Round of 16, but he still remains a prolific player in the squad.

3. Victor Osimhen
The Nigerian has been in a high sensation of form this season and it looks like he isn't ready to stop.

The partnership with Kvara has proven to be phenomenal in the Serie A, as the duo remain the key that could lead Napoli to their first Scudetto since 1990.
Since the return of club football, the 24 year old has scored 11 goals and provided an assist in all competitions.
He also became the first player since Cristiano Ronaldo to score in eight successive league matches in a row.

2. Kylian Mbappe
Some say he is the next player to carry on the G.O.A.T legacy, some say he is arrogant but the truth is that the young lad has all it takes to be great in his own right.

Despite coming up short in The World Cup final, the Frenchman still put up the work for PSG as he keeps venting his frustration on his opponents.
His 5 goals against US Pays Dr Cassel in the Coupe de Frane Round of 16 was a big example of it.
So far, Mbappe has scored 11 goals and provided 2 assists in all competitions and just recently became PSG's all time top scorer with 201 goals, overtaking Edinson Cavani, who had 200.

He also put a valiant performance agaunst Bayern Munich across two legs in the UCL Round of 16, even had 3 goals ruled out but even he couldn't save them from elimination.

1. Marcus Rashford
The only person that has the credentials to be the number one on the list and his stats can fully be justified.
The rise of Rashford hasn't gone unnoticed as the MBE felt like a complete shadow of himself last season he registered just 5 goals across all competitions.
But since the beginning of the season, the 25 year old seems to have gotten himself back, and with the help of Erik ten Hag, he seems to have gotten his form back, much better than before.
After the World Cup, Rashford's form in front of goal has been on another level, scoring 17 goals in all competitions so far, which is the highest tally in Europe right now since the event.
He helped United to their first title since 2017 after they beat Newcastle 2-0 in the Carabao Cup final, a match which he also scored.

He has scored in six straight home matches for Manchester United, and has so far, scored 25 goals in all club competitions, which is his best tally since he scored 22 goals in the 2019/2020 season, and it doesn't look like he is ready to slow down.
