EFL Semi-Finals L1| Nottingham Forest 0-3 Manchester United

Manchester United made sure they had one foot in Wembley after their 3-0 victory against Nottingham Forest in the first leg of the Semi-Finals.

Marcus Rashford made it 1-0 for the visitors as early as the 6th minute, collecting a pass from Casemiro at the left wing before weaving past some Forest players to beat Wayne Hennessey at goal.

The Englishman became the first United player to score 5 goals in the competition since Carlos Tevez in the 2007/2008 edition.

Antony almost fired a quick fire double two minutes later but his curling shot went wide.
Sam Surridge levelled the match for Forest in the 24th minute but his effort was ruled out by VAR, as he made his run quite early, getting himself into an offside position.

Nottingham kept conjuring up chances as the likes of Morgan Gibbs-White, Brennan Johnson and Gustavo Scarpi coming close on multiple occasions.
Their final 3rd ineffectiveness was punished however, as Wout Weghorst doubled United's lead in the 44th minute, reacting first to a rebound shot, opening his account for the team.

After the break, United kept their dominance in possession, hoping to see off the game without any stains on their sheet.
Forest did have chances but just like the first half, they couldn't capitalise on them.
Their momentum hit another big block when Bruno Fernandes made it 3-0 in the 89th minute, seemingly killing off the tie and a final spot at Wembley.

As for United, they hope to keep and protect their lead in the second leg, hopefully add more to assure their place at Wembley.
