World Cup| Shock in Group C as Saudi Arabia come from behind to beat Argentina

Saudi Arabia pulled out one of the biggest upsets in World Cup history, coming from behind to beat Argentina 2-1 at the Lusail Iconic Stadium.

It was a tale of two halves, as Argentina totally bossed the first half from start to finish.
Lionel Messi had the first shot on target for them in the 2nd minute but his attempt was saved by Al Owais
Argentina won a penalty in the 8th minute after Paredes was tripped in the box by Al Bulayi, which Messi converted to give his side a 1-0 lead.

Argentina went on to score three more goals, but all of them were ruled off as offside.

After the break, Saudi Arabia came off flying everywhere as they looked to give one of the favorites a shock and it didn't take that long, as Saleh Al-Shehri found the bottom corner of Emiliano Martinez goal in the 48th minute.
The turnaround was completed five minutes later, Al-Dawsari scoring one of the best goals of the group, hitting a curling shot to the top right corner.

Argentina begun searching for an equaliser but Al Owais remained on alert to deny the likes of Lautaro Martinez and Angel Di Maria, who struggled to find his form in the game.

In the 90+2 minutes, Al Amiri was on hand to stop Julian Alvarez shot from crossing the line, after the keeper had mistakenly spilled the ball.
Saudi Arabia held on to win just their 4th World Cup match since their history in the competition, propelling themselves to the top of Group C.
1958 was the last time Argentina lost a game when leading first in the World Cup but that record has been snapped.
