World Cup| Füllkrug secures a big point for Germany in Group E

Niclas Füllkrug helped Germany seal a much needed point against Spain as the two sides played out to a 1-1 draw at the Al Bayt Stadium.
Dani Olmo had an opportunity to give Spain the lead in the 6th minute, but Manuel Neuer tipped his long range effort to the crossbar.

Spain kept dominating Germany, bossing possession and creating chances.
Even with the dominance, Spain found it tough to break the deadlock.

They were almost hit with a set back in the 40th minute as Antonio Rudiger headed into the net via a set piece but were relieved to see the goal ruled out by VAR.

After the break, the two sides kept pushing for the first hit as Germany began to show signs of attack.
However, some of their momentum was cut off as Substitute Alvaro Morata scored in the 62nd minute after meeting a clean delivery from Jordi Alba.

Spain could have doubled their lead 4 minutes later, but Marco Asensio squandered their opportunity.
Jamal Musiala was one of the key threats for Germany as he kept exploiting the Spainish defense with opportunity he got.
He did have a chance to draw level, but had his shot saved by Unai Simon.

After much pressure from the Germans, they finally got their reward in the 83rd minute as Substitute Niclas Füllkrug scored the equalizer after a neat play between Leroy Sane and Jamal Musiala.

Sane had the chance to win the game at the death, but his choice to round up the keeper rather than to shoot directly didn't work out for him.
Either ways, Spain still remain at the top of their group with 4 points and could consolidate their position with a win against Japan.
As for Germany, the chance to qualify for the knockout rounds hasn't slipped as they could move on with a victory against Costa Rica, who also stand a chance to qualify.

It's all to play in the final day for the 4 sides.
