World Cup| Fuller helps Costa Rica redeem themselves as they beat Japan in Group E

Keysher Fuller got the winning goal for Costa Rica as they held on to beat Japan 1-0 at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium.

After been humiliated by Spain last week, Rica were looking to redeem themselves against a Japan side that shocked the world with a victory against the 2014 champions Germany.
No shots on target in the first half, as the two sides failed to be clinical at goal.
The second half started well for Japan as they had 2 shots on target in the opening 2 minutes but Keylor Navas denied Hidesama Morita and Takuma Asano.

Japan kept dominating proceedings but couldn't get past the Costa Rican Defense as they remained solid.

Rica Right Back Keysher Fuller broke the deadlock in the 81st minute, meeting Yeltsin Tejeda's pass before curling a shot via the outstretched arm of Shuichi Gonda.
This was Costa Rica's first shot on target not only in the game but in the tournament.
Japan almost found an equaliser 7 minutes through Daichi Kamada but Navas saved the goal scramble.

Costa Rica now find themselves in third place of their group with 3 points, level with Japan and Spain, who could secure their qualification with a victory against Germany today.
