World Cup| First Win for Africa as Senegal defeat Qatar in Group A

Senegal's wait for a win came to an end after they beat Qatar 3-1 at the Al Thumama Stadium.

 After several attempts, Senegal finally got the opener in the 41st minute after Boulaye Dia capitalise on Khoukhi mistake to give Senegal a 1-0 lead.
After the break, Famara Diedhiou doubled the lead after stooping low to head home from a corner.

In the 78th minute, Qatar finally had something to cheer for, as Substitute Mohammed Muntari scored their first ever goal in the World Cup.
However, the jubilation was short lived as Bamba Dieng restored Senegal's two goal lead in the 84th minute.

Senegal move up to 2nd place in 3rd place in Group A, level on points with the Netherlands and Ecuador.
