World Cup| Another Win for Africa as Morocco shock Belgium in Group F

Belgium became the latest side to be shocked in the tournament as they lost 2-0 to Morocco at the Al Thumama Stadium.

The Atlas Lions suffered a slight setback before kickoff as first choice shotstopper Yashin Bounou had to be replaced.
The real chance of the game fell to Achraf Hakimi in the 35th minute, but shot went wide.
Kevin De Bruyne almost found the net from a freekick 4 minutes later, but his effort failed to deep on time.
Hakim Ziyech thought he had scored the opener through a direct freekick at the closing stages of the half, but VAR ruled the goal out for offside due to Roman Saiss involvement in the buildup.

Things began to get livelier in the second half, with Ziyech having his shot saved by Thibaut Courtois in the 50th minute.
Eden Hazard forced Bounou's replacement Munir to make a sharp and smart save 2 minutes later.
Dries Mertens also had his attempt by the Al-Wehda Goalkeeper.

Substitute Abdelhamid Sabiri broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute from a direct freekick, a carbon copy of Ziyech's disallowed goal.
This was also Morocco's first ever direct freekick goal in the World Cup.

Another Morocco Substitute Zakaria Aboukhai made it 2-0 at the last minutes of the game, killing off any hope of a comeback from Belgium.

The Atlas Lions are now sitting at the top of their group with 4 points, just a point higher than Belgium and 2 higher than Croatia.
