Federico Valverde has been a completely different player since the start of the 2022/2023 season.
The Uruguayan has finally started to what he is truly capable of, with his incredible passing, pace and unbelievable shooting ability.
The 24 year old has played 15 matches so far for Los Blancos, but has already bagged 7 goals, one higher than his previous seasons.
He is currently Madrid's joint top scorer alongside Vinicius Jr, whose form has gone from strength to strength.
Before this season, Fede's highest goal tally in a season was 4 goals, and that was back in 2021.
Speaking to DAZN Espana after the match against Elche, Valverde joked that he was focused on winning a bet with manager Carlo Ancelotti.
"Happy for the team. He (Ancelotti) already said it, I have to reach ten goals this season. I am focused on it. It’s a nice pressure. I don’t want to have the blame for the manager retiring.”
Earlier this season, The Real Madrid manager made a bet with the midfielder, urging him to score 10 goals or he will give up his coaching license and call it a day.
Since then, Fede has gone on to show that he is more than capable to hit any standard set out for him, even showing signs of breaking past his limit.
Valverde has also shown promise operating in the right wing, with 5 of his strikes coming down the right flank.
Now an indispensable starter in Ancelotti's squad, you can rightly "bet" on him to deliver more 5 star performances in every match he features in.
