UEFA Champions League| Classic Havertz sends Chelsea to the Round Of 16

Graham Potter's men sealed their passage to the Round of 16 with a 2-1 victory against Salzburg in the Red Bull Arena, Austria.

After a less entertaining opening, the Blues finally got the opener in the 23rd minute, Mateo Kovacic hitting a first time curling shot to the top right corner, catching Philipp Köhn off guard.

The keeper was on hand to stop Thiago Silva's shot from crossing the line just 3 minutes later.

Köhn made more incredible saves before the break to deny the likes of Aubameyang and Havertz from adding to the scoreline.

Just minutes after the restart, Salzburg got themselves level, Maximilian Wöber delivering a beautiful pass to Chukwubuike Adamu, who hit a half volleyed shot past Kepa.

In the 63rd minute, Kai Havertz scored one of the best goals of the group stage, setting himself outside the box before curling a spectacular shot past a stranded Köhn and off the underside of the top post.

Despite the pressures they piled on their visitors, Salzburg weren't able to get leveller this time, as they succumbed to their first defeat but still have a chance to book the last qualification spot in the group.

Chelsea meanwhile secured their place in the knockout round of the competition with a game to spar.
